In Aayna, you browse the web with your avatar, the character, that represents you. You can walk in and explore Aayna, using the arrow keys or the mouse as per your preference and see others doing the same.

When you start, just after having opened an account, the first step is to create your avatar, which can be done in the My avatar menu. Do not forget to save it!

You can enter anywhere by clicking on it.

When you see others on your screen, you can interact with them: you can chat, you can make them friends, to join them afterwards wherever they are in .

If you decide to browse Aayna on your own, you can click on the button left of the menu. You will browse aayna in the invisible mode then.

Last but not least, you can create your own personal room. Just go to the My Room menu.

Yes, you can mark a link of your room on your blog, no permission required, its purely yours.

You can move your avatar with
      • arrow keys of your keyboard
      • your mouse

With arrow keys:
just click on arrow keys. Your avatar will move in the direction of the arrow key you push.

With your mouse:
just point your avatar with your mouse. A blue arrow will appear on your screen. If you click with your mouse when you see the blue arrow, and keep clicking, you will drag your avatar in the direction you want. The more you go fare away from your avatar, the quicker you drag it!

If you want to browse anonymously, without being viewed by other Yoowalkers nor seeing anybody else, you can choose to fly.
Click on the little button up left, just near to the menu button in Yoowalk to change the browsing mode: fly or walk.
In fly mode, you browse quicker, you do not see others and others do not see you and you can not chat with anybody.
In walk mode, you see others, others see you and you can chat around with people in the same room as you. Walk mode is set by default.

An avatar is a character that represents you within aayna. You can give your avatar the look you want by customizing it. And do not forget: your avatar will be viewed by all the other Aaynians!

Just go to the My avatar menu to create and customize your avatar.
You can choose either to have a male or a female avatar. Then, just click on the different buttons to change forms and colors of each different parts of your avatar.

Do not forget to save your modifications!

Yes! Of course! One day, you can have purple hairs with black eyes, the following day red hairs with blue eyes. This is purely virtual life! Just make it according to your current mood and live your life! ;-)

Your personal room is a room that you own and where you can put any content that you want. You can also customize it as you like and publish it in any existing building you want.
In this room, you can invite people to come and see your personal stuff.

You can create and customize your room clicking on the "My room" tab.

You can open the "Description" menu to set the main characteristics of your room (size, color and texture of walls and ground, etc. ...). Do not forget to set an address otherwise your room will not be published. Select also the way you want to open your room. Private: the room is open to you and your friends. Public: the room is open to anyone.

You can use the "Bank" menu to insert objects, images, videos, sounds and any furniture in your room.

When you are finished with customizing your room, do not forget to save it by clicking on the "Save room" button!

You can insert images, videos, sounds and texts in your room.
To insert content in your room, just choose the right container in the bank menu. Containers are specialized by the content they contain. There are containers for text, video, image and sound.

Once you have choosen a container, click on it in the bank menu and drag it to the wall where you want to put it. If a green check appears, you can leave the container on the wall by releasing your click. If a red cross appears, you have to choose another place on the wall to relieve the container.

Once your container is on the wall, a local menu will open. Just follow the instructions.

Roughly speaking, you can use two types of content in these containers: content that is stored in your own computer or content that is stored on websites.

     • Content stored on your computer can be uploaded through My content menu. You can upload either images or sounds. After having uploaded content in My content menu, you can use it in the containers you put on the walls.
     • Website content can be used for images, sound and video. For images and sounds, just copy and paste the link of the image/sound in the container. For video, follow the instructions in the container.

To control your room's access, you set the options you want in the description menu.

Option "Private" will let you and your friends only enter your room. Option "Public" will let anyone enter your room.

You can also decide to leave the access always open, whether your room is private or public, or decide to let people come into your room only when you are there. If you set the option "Closed", your room will be unaccessible to anybody.

Aayna is a fantastic place to interact with each other! You will see various means to talk to other Aaynians, to play with them, to communicate, to meet people and make friends, to share experience on location or personal rooms ... Here are the basic means to interact with other Aaynians:

     • Chat around: click on that button in the Menu to activate the chat around. You will be able to send text to other Aaynians who are in the same room as you. This can be done in walk mode only.
     • Friends: that menu enables you to join a friend wherever he is in aayna when this friend is present. Later, we will developp an instant messenger to enable you to communicate directly with your friends within aayna without being in the same room.
     • You can click on other Aaynians to make friends, see their profile, or chat privately.
     • You can invite friends with the button "Invite" of the menu.
     • In shops and personal rooms, you can leave posts in forums. You can answer the posts or create new ones.

But these interactions are just the beginning. We are going to developp plenty fun and interactive applications!

Making friends in Aayna is quite simple. You just click on the avatar that you want to make friends with and click on the button "Add to friends" of the menu. That's it!
Later you will be able to invite friends by sending them an email or through your instant messenger contacts. But this is not developped yet: just be patient!

Since you are a fan of Aayna, you want to share this pure happiness with your friends. Do not hesitate to invite your friends simply using the "Invite" menu, they will be pleased.

Having friends in aayna enriches your experience. You can indeed browse together with your friends. Just join your friends wherever they are, provided they are connected to Aayna, using the "Friends" menu.
Later, we will also developp a messenger that will help you discuss with your friends even if they are not in the same room as you.
You can also choose to invite only friends in your personal room.
And we will developp lots of applications to play with your friends... but shhhh, this is still a secret!

Yes, obviously, you can talk secretly to your friend or anybody else also with the personal consent, and let me assure, any third person wont be able to find it out.

Despite the Charter of Good Behavior, some individuals might behave badly. They might for instance be unpolite, say bad words, or even say things that are reprehensible by law. Or you might find illegal content in personal rooms or walksites. Or you might be harassed by a Aaynian... In any of these case, you have to react the good way.
First, you have to know that the person behaving badly IS actually the bad guy. Not you. So do not be afraid to take frank actions. We recommend you to:

     • block and suppress the contact, if that person is one of your friends
     • change rooms if the person is harassing you in a given room during a chat
     • report us a problem (illegal content or words, bad words) through the contact tab at bottom of the site. You will have to be precise: tell us the room exactly (in the street, in a personal room, with precise description so that we can know for sure which room this is about), the date and time of the event, the person that is implicated, the circumstances and what is making you feel you have to contact us. We will respond you as quick as possible.

In Aayna, people can interact with each other. If we let everybody do what he wants, this is going to be the Far West ;-).
Aaynians must therefore be reminded that society can be pleasant to everyone only if everybody respect the limit.

Yes, you can, but if others don’t like you the way you are, and wont like you that way, I hope you would also not like to stay in an unlike community. If other aaynians report about it, there is nothing much that we will be able to do for you.
